At a Halloween party last year, I dressed up as a nondescript and poor excuse for a vampire from Blade (1998). I spent most of the night responding to "hmm, never heard of it". After a while, I ran into Steve from Blues Clues (1996) and found out his real-life name is also Steve and was also fielding "hmm, don't know that guy" responses all night.
Dear reader: we discovered we were old and tired and out of touch but also didn't care a bit. Regardless of what the youths did or didn't know about culture, I know the truth: Steve is one of the cool kids!
