I’ve always been drawn to the musical fringes. Before starting Nielly Listens, very frequently I’d share a song or an album with someone that “didn’t get it”. It was too loud, too experimental, too something. And now that I’ve committed to listening and sharing music with an overarching goal of finding “new and unique” releases for you, music listening gets kinda boring sometimes! My pattern recognition kicks into overdrive and songs start sounding the same. Every melody, kick drum, scream, syncopated clap reminds me of something else. I’m trying to scratch an unrelenting itch to experience something new.
